There are ongoing discussions in the United States regarding tariff increases.

South Korea and the United States signed an FTA in March 2012, which led to the phased elimination of tariffs on textiles, culminating in full tariff elimination for all textile products by March 2022. Of course, this applies only when textiles are recognized as Korean-origin under the yarn-forward rule, which serves as the principal rule of origin for textiles.

Even if the United States imposes universal tariffs on all nations, Korean-origin textiles will remain duty-free under the FTA. However, there is still a possibility of amending the Korea-U.S. FTA itself.
