The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy held a meeting on August 13, 2024, with Minister Duk-geun Ahn. During the meeting, they discussed the current issues and future direction of the Korean textile and fashion industry and announced the 'Textile and Fashion Industry Competitiveness Enhancement Strategy'.
Among these, the most notable aspect is the automation and intelligence of the manufacturing process.
(Automation) Deployment of automated equipment in labor-intensive processes such as dyeing and finishing (2024 - 2027)
(Intelligence) Establishment of AI-based digital twin standard model pilot factories for industries with high process complexity, along with support for equipment intelligence consulting and other services (2026 - 2029)
In Korea, it is not difficult to see robots in places like airports and restaurants. It is expected that they will soon be widely introduced in the textile industry as well.
